The Soldier !

Ayres thrush
I  picked this up somewhere, its worth a read.

It is the soldier, not the reporter,
Who has given us the freedom of the press.

It is the soldier, not the poet,
Who has given us the freedom of speech.

It is the soldier, not the student activist,
who has given us the freedom to demonstrate.

It is the soldier, not the lawyer,
who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is the soldier, who salutes the flag,
who serves under the flag and whose coffin
is draped by the flag.

Who permits the protester to burn the flag.

"Until you can be of use  to your fellow man you have no human rights at all"

  1. I enjoyed this post. I even shared it on my blog's face book page. Thank you for the beautiful comment on my blog. The story was about memories. Ashley is 32, married, with two children - all alienated from me by a selfish ex-husband and family. She taught me love, but she also taught me about a broken heart. Thanks for visiting. Donna

    1. If she taught you love? maybe she will soon preceive your memories and change, be lucky

  2. I really love this, planes are so fascinating, I would love to learn more about them. I remember as a child watching them land at the local air field with my dad. It was such a relaxing experience.

    1. I was also blown away by seeing my first plane as a child, thank you
